- Due to HMRC error, some taxpayers may not receive a bill for Payments on Account on 31st July, but will then face a higher bill in January 2020.
- Some people are making Gifts of money or assets without knowing about the Inheritance Tax implications which may apply.
- Employers flouting the workplace pension rules can face spot checks from the Pension Regulator - with a £400 fixed penalty notice and potential daily penalties from £50 - £10,000.
- With the aim of preventing 'disguised employment' IR35 rules are to be extended to the private sector in April 2020 but there are calls for a 'stay of execution'.
