If you need to send a tax return and you miss the 31st January 2019 deadline for submitting it or paying your bill, you will receive a penalty from H.M. Revenue & Customs. The penalty is £100 if your tax return is up to 3 months late. You will have to pay more if it is later, or if you are late paying your tax bill. You’ll also be charged interest on late payments.
